The cheapest way to do it would be if you were to go from Chorley-Stoke on the SAME DAY. Because you're breaking your journey up between so many days, this is why your fares are so expensive. Try and do each leg as one long journey on one day, then get an off-peak open return. This should work out cheaper for you.
